Phase 07 - Post-Occupancy
Handover, Warranty + Usage
TIMELINE 12 months
Your project is complete. You’ve reached the end of construction and you’re ready to take possession. This is a major milestone, and one worth celebrating.
Over the first year, it’s normal for a few minor issues to surface (drywall cracking, building system tweaks, etc). We remain involved during this period to support you in resolving any outstanding items with the general contractor. After 12 months, we carry out a final review, provide a deficiency list (punch list) and confirm that all matters are addressed. We then issue the final certificate of completion which formally concludes the construction contract.
This is also when we step back and reflect on what we've accomplished together. We’ll photograph and document the finished home or building and may discuss opportunities for publication, awards, or future project showcases.
We genuinely enjoy staying connected with our clients. We do this to remain connected to those we cherish but also to see how the home is being lived in and to learn from the experience. This post-occupancy insight helps us refine our process and informs the next project, whether it’s yours or someone else's. If you're open to it, we may even invite future clients to see your home and share in the story of what we've built together.
